This month welcomes the new Luxe Lip Color range from Bobbi Brown Singapore. A Fall 2015 launch, these new lipsticks will be permanent additions to the existing Bobbi Brown lip colour selections.
Encased in sleek gold tubes, the appearance and heft of these lip lovelies give away their luxe label. They’re thankfully not garishly-gilded, whilst their caps—embossed with the brand’s preppy crest—add sophistication to the packaging. At only S$44, the price point is reasonably affordable.
In a wide array of vibrant hues, the rich formula contains MaxiLip, a powerful peptide that supports natural collagen production, to plump lips. It is also infused with moisture-boosting ingredients, including Vitamins C and E, to keep lips softly-conditioned. Given how lipsticks with slip tend to compromise on pigment, these satin-crèmes nicely balance colour payoff with moisturising comfort.
Almost all of the colours I swatched offer single-stroke opacity. I haven’t tried them on the lips yet but their creamy consistency, along with the subtle smoothing shine, seems to reinforce their promise to visibly reduce lip lines and relieve flaking.
One swipe evenly delivers bold colour, even with the paler nude hues, and I like how the hydrating quality gives a semi-glossy finish to the creamy coverage.
