Current Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Must-Haves

YSL Beaute Must-Haves 2015

Since August is the month of Yves Saint Laurent’s birth, I thought I’d share 7 of my current must-haves from the brand.

If you’re new to YSL Beauté, I hope this helps you wend your way through the resplendent range of products at the store.  :)

YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Pen Press Visual
1. YSL Touche Éclat (S$58)

The iconic illuminating pen that obscures facial imperfections whilst blessing the visage with subtle radiance, this magic makeup wand is the darling of makeup artists who use it to diminish the appearance of blemishes and erase signs of fatigue.

I love it for subtle highlighting work and to brighten my undereye area. PS: 1 wand is sold every 10 seconds, worldwide!

YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector Press Visual

2. YSL Touche Éclat Blur Perfector (S$75)

Inspired by the gentle glow of pink light bulbs that were used to soften lighting in the past, this balm-to-powder compact has a silky formula that softens fine lines (especially those around the undereye area) and reduces the appearance of facial imperfections.

I like how its pale rose tone gives a luminous, soft-focus effect. It works over foundation and powder without caking—just make sure you dab it on versus swiping it across your skin.

Refinery29 has an excellent review of this product, as well as tips on how to use it effectively.

YSL Fusion Ink Foundation SPF 18 PA+++ Press Visual

3. YSL Fusion Ink Foundation SPF 18 PA+++ (S$89)

A lightweight and long-lasting foundation, its natural mattifying effect is a hit with Singapore customers. I like its buildable nature and 3-dimensional finish (no mean feat for an essentially matte foundie).

YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats 201 202 203 204 205 206 Visual

4. YSL Rouge Pur Couture (S$49)

Richly saturated with colour, this luxurious lipstick range is opulent both in packaging and in pigmentation.

YSL Beaute Rouge Pur Couture Kiss & Love Collection 01 Le Rouge Press Visual

Coming soon in October, the limited-edition Rouge Pur Couture Kiss & Love Collection for Holiday 2015: Lip-smacking, love-bitten pieces stamped with the iconic YSL lip-print kisses.

YSL La Laque Couture Press Visual

5. YSL La Laque Couture (S$37)

I can’t sing enough praises of this nail lacquer.

It’s the one range I turn to when I need to get my nails done neatly and quickly: The brush shape is perfect for painting precision (and I say this as one who’s not the best with polish application) and the varnish dries fairly fast too (important for mummies like me who have to attend to frequent kiddy needs and chores).

The beautiful range of pigmented and chic colours rounds up its perfection.

YSL Forever Light Creator UV Protection SPF 50 PA++++ Press Visual

6. YSL Forever Light Creator UV Protection SPF 50 PA++++ (S$72)

Formulated with an anti-pollution complex that reduces the adhesion of carbon particles to the skin, it also has an intelligent 4-filter base that delivers extensive protection against UVA and UVB rays.

I love its lightweight texture and glowy finish, and how it blends well with non-SPF foundations to offer UV defence and subtle radiance.

YSL Re-Plumping Concentrate Lip & Contour Shaper Press Visual

7. YSL Top Secrets Lip Re-Plumping Concentrate (S$55)

I haven’t tried this yet but I know top Singapore makeup artists love it for its smoothing and plumping effect that redefines the lip contour. I’m looking forward to treating my parched lips with this.
