Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy CC Lipstick in 401 Hot Swatches

Released late last year, the Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy CC Lipstick range promises saturated colour and lip protection.

When I first saw the CC in its name, I thought the brand had jumped on the BB/CC Cream bandwagon and wondered how it would translate into a lipstick. I discovered that rather than colour correction, the CC stands for the Colour & Care formula which gives this range the dual function of rich colour payoff and lip-hugging balmy protection. They also bear the tagline of ‘Excess Moisture Rich Lipcolor’ but they aren’t lip-drenching. In fact, I was quite put off by the resistance that some of them had, due to their density, when I swatched them. Please don’t let this deter you, though – they really feel different on the lips and have a velvety-soft touch.

I used 401 Hot a lot over the Lunar New Year holiday, and absolutely enjoyed the texture of this plush cherry red. It isn’t high-shine but does have a pleasing lustre. A creamy lipstick that feels like a soothing balm, it stayed on well despite the onslaught of festive goodies. ;) It isn’t quite indelible but for its comfortable hydrating sensation, I was surprised by the beautiful stain it leaves behind after a few wipes.

The lustrous feel and pigmented performance are enhanced by its gorgeous aesthetics, a signature feature of the brand. I love the oval-ended cap and the sleek form of the slightly-curved red lacquered tube, as well the satisfying magnetic closure when it’s secured. Distinctively Armani, the striking hue and silhouette set it apart from the other lipsticks in my stash.

Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy CC Lipstick Display at DFS Galleria Singapore

This lipstick retails at S$43 and can be found at the Giorgio Armani Beauty counter at DFS Galleria on Scotts Road (the only one on our sunny island). No thanks to practical sales forecasts, the range in Singapore is unfortunately limited. As such, you’ll have to look overseas for the colours that aren’t available here.

I totally agree that our Singapore range is quite limited, twice I went to the counter but couldn’t find anything that caught my eye. I got my hands on Dolce online and I love the texture of these lipsticks. Really lovely. I love how Hot your lips look! :)

      Hi Jac,

Haha, nice pun! Sadly, this is the only one that caught my eye at the counter. I wish they’d bring in the complete range for our market.
