Recently launched, this cleansing oil from Bioré is now packaged in a pink bottle adorned with an adorable picture of My Melody.
I remember this character being called My Merry Melody but I might’ve mistaken it for a whistling lollipop or that Warner Brothers cartoon series! In any case, don’t wait too long to purchase this bottle if you have a fondness for this Sanrio critter – it’s available in Singapore only till February 2014.
Retailing at S$17.90, it can be found at Watsons stores across the island. I haven’t used a Bioré cleansing oil in a while, so I can’t comment on its efficacy but the makeup removers from the brand are generally efficient workers.
Also new to the brand are the Cleansing Oil Cotton Facial Sheets – a revamp, really – which are now infused with 20% more cleansing liquid than before and contain a ‘hydrating beauty essence’ for a moisturised, non-greasy sensation. The flip-top box is completely new – it doesn’t have a dispenser, so you’ll have to fumble a little if you’re busy with one hand. That said, this preserves the integrity and wetness of the wipes, so win some, lose some. ;) The new box has a lovely translucency, plus the shade of soft pink is sweet too; quite lovely on a makeup countertop.
Now, these I have tried and like them a fair bit. I recently tested a whole slew of products for a huge project (hundreds…yes, it’s true!) and they were superbly useful, to say the least. They aren’t the gentlest of wipes but they’re functional and do a much better job than most of its kind*. The light floral scent is pleasant and non-cloying too…it now reminds me of the mega swatching session I’ve had!
Hmm, come to think of it, the cleansing oil in the bottle is prolly the same liquid that these sheets are soaked with. In which case, it’ll likely work well. :)
Here are the prices of the Bioré wipes in Singapore:
Regular Set (44 sheets + tub) – S$17.90
Refill Pack (44 sheets) – S$15.60
Handy Pack (10 sheets) – S$3.90
Pretty reasonable for their efficacy!
* It would be unfair to compare them to the expensive MAC Wipes but the sturdy cleansing cloths from MAC are my favourite makeup wipes, in case you’re wondering.
