With a clever alliterative name that alludes to strong pigments, The Body Shop Colour Crush eyeshadow range has 3 finishes: shimmer, pearlescent and matte.
They’re a mixed batch in terms of performance. Although they all possess a silky-soft texture, not every one is as pigmented as the range name implies – some are superbly intense, while others are lacklustre in colour payoff. Thankfully, the latter have no problem showing up well over cream bases.
Interestingly, some have rather unique flashes; I guess you could call them duo-chromed.

My 3 favourites from the lot: Berry Cheeky (a fuchsia), Brownie & Clyde (a silvery taupe brown) and Something Blue (a teal). These richly-pigmented colours are as vivid on the skin as in the pan.
Like last year’s Lily Cole makeup collection, they are 100% vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. Their binding agents are made from natural vegetable materials and they do not rely on bug shell extract for their shimmer; instead, it is derived from mineral mica.
Formulated with a blend of Community Fair Trade Brazil nut oil, marula oil, honey, organic virgin coconut oil and sesame oil, they offer skincare benefits too. These products not only sustain local communities and protect the environment, they also ensure the survival of indigenous species that depend on them.
Made in Italy, these shadows weigh 1.5 g. In Singapore, they retail at S$19.90.
Housed in transparent cases made from recyclable plastic, their slightly-domed lids don’t encourage easy stacking. Nevertheless, I love that I can clearly see the shades that lie within them. Their shape, together with their name, reminds me so much of that popular game, Candy Crush!
Oh that berry! It’s gorgeous, I was so pleased when I saw that swatch was lovely and pigmented.
Hey Sam,
Which berry? The purples are so-so (they do pop over a base) but the pink is awesome!
Yup! The pink is awesome! I’m not usually attracted by the light/pale pinks, but the pigment is really good for this range!
Hi Chris!
Gorgeous, gorgeous shade and easy to tone down or play up! :)
these look so cute-I have to make it to the Body Shop more often. I bet a few colors are vegan (hope so!)
Hi Katie,
Yes, they’re vegan and cruelty-free. And lol, the brand says they’re vegetarian! #notthesame
Looks great! I never thought of body shop colors until I read this. Will be sure to check this out!
Hi Rachel,
Have fun – so many to choose from!
