Shiseido Camellia Compact

Here’s the Shiseido Camellia Compact, a stunning Holiday 2012 palette that also marks the brand’s 140th anniversary.

The bloom pointing upward represents aspiration, while the camellia that points down represents modesty….by balancing these virtues on the inside, a person can achieve true beauty.

The favorite flower of Shiseido’s first president, Shinzo Fukuhara, this distinctive bloom has since become the brand’s trademark motif.

Housed in a lacquered case which immediately reminded me of Shiseido Lacquer Rouge, this blush beauty is a troika of visual and tactile makeup pleasure.

Not only is the flower a symbol of beauty for the brand, the overlapping camellias in the compact represent ‘Shiseido’s current and ever-evolving knowledge’.

Comprising a white, a salmon pink and a muted crimson, they have the pearlescent finish and smoothness of the Shiseido Luminizing Satin Face Colors. I’m actually fond of the finely-milled shimmer that’s infused in the pans – they add a subtle reflective quality to the colours and enhance their satin finish.

Use them singly or combined, these silky shades will lend a beautiful blush flush to the visage.

Do note that the sparkly overspray does not extend to the rest of the pan.

This limited edition palette is already available at the Shiseido counters in Singapore and retails at S$60 here.

I hear that quantities are extremely limited, so do purchase yours while you can. :)
