This year, Crabtree & Evelyn introduces a brand-new scent, Himalayan Blue. Inspired by the early British explorers and their search for the mythical blue poppy, the fragrance collection is a journey into the heart of the Himalayas.
The essence of the Himalayas is captured in a fresh, citrusy top note of crisp mandarin, orange leaf, and a hint of lemon.
The heart of the fragrance is composed of ginger, reflecting the warmth of the journey, and a combination of delicate rose absolute, pink pepper, Himalayan golden champaca blossoms, and wildflowers hinting at the mesmerising backdrop.
A smoky base note of lapsong souchong and sandalwood is reminiscent of the sultry seduction of the mountains while a leather accord provides a subtle reminder of the creaky saddles and antique bridles that belonged to those early explorers.

I had a sniff of the products and discovered that the spicy and citrus notes, together with the underlying smokey and leathery tones, make an exotic scent. Despite the seemingly strong notes, it is a well-balanced scent laced with some sweetness. I can see it receiving love from ladies who would like something that smells unusual but is still pleasantly wearable.
