Makeup Mail | Max Factor Fantasy Fire and Boots No7 Goodies

A happy package from England came my way recently.

When I first learnt about Max Factor Max Effect Mini Nail Polish in 45 Fantasy Fire, purportedly a dupe of the discontinued and by-now-elusive Clarins 230, I knew I wanted it. Fortunately, my fabulous friend, London Makeup Girl kindly agreed to my random request to custom purchase it for me.

Composed of a mélange of purple, bronze, blue and red tones, this polish is somewhat sheer but layers well over deeper nail varnishes.

Grace also custom purchased Boots No7 Vital Enlightening Highlighter Powder for me.

Nestled in a palette with a pretty poppy print (say that 10 times, quickly!), this champagne illuminator with a 3-dimensional floral pan reminds me of other highlighters that I have but has a charm of its own, thanks to its presentation and packaging.

Its surface is a frost overspray but it continues to be shimmery beneath – just a touch subdued – imparting a lovely finish that’s terrific for sculpting the face with.

To my surprise, I also found Boots No7 Vital Brights Cream Blush in Blossoming Pink in the package, an extra that my pal had bought specially for me.

Made in Italy, the texture and sheen of this silky coral cheek colour reminded me of the Topshop cream blushes that are also made in the same country.

Beauty from abroad is always a treat! Thank you, Grace London. ;)
