When I first swatched the new Maquillage Essence Rouge glosses, I was quickly fascinated by the elasticity the creamy liquid seems to have.
According to Shiseido Singapore, it is the ‘bounce’ technology that gives the gloss this texture and the ‘silicon gel…creates a luscious veil that memorizes the color, shine and shape of your lips’. Sounds freaky – lipglosses that memorise? Quite far-fetched a description, really.
This, together with the quirky name of the formula (so characteristic of Japanese makeup brands!), might raise brows but in the end, the product speaks for itself – this is currently the top-selling Maquillage lip product. ;)

Here are swatches of the 6 face-friendly shades currently available: PK 393 Hot Pink, BE 790 Nude Glamour Beige, RS 794 Blush Rose, RD 791 Harmonious Red, RS 595 Rouge Rose, OR 292 Tint Coral.
The light texture and easy glide of the glosses make them easy to apply. Not only are the rich colours shiny and silky, they are also infused with micro-shimmer. It’s no wonder that they sell so well.
In Singapore, this product retails at S$43 and is already available at Shiseido counters island-wide.
