First Impressions Review | L’Oréal Professionnel Vitamino Color Shampoo and Conditioner

I’ve finally finished the sample sachets of these two L’Oréal Professionnel products that I received from Testerbar.

I can’t really comment on their colour preservation ability with just a few uses (each sachet affords two to three uses, depending on hair length) but I’d admit that they did not strip my hair of colour – my highlights look the same.

Here are my first impressions reviews of both:

L’Oréal Professionnel Vitamino Color Shampoo – This baby pink shampoo is creamy and lathers well. I don’t have to use a lot for it to clean my scalp and hair. I like that it has a moisturising feel and that my fingers can run  very easily through my tresses while I’m working the shampoo in. This ease isn’t always apparent in shampoos; some can cause tangles even as you lather.

L’Oréal Professionnel Vitamino Color Conditioner – This conditioner adequately conditions but it doesn’t have the deep conditioning properties of more intense conditioners. My scalp has been producing more oil recently due to hormonal changes, so I appreciate that it doesn’t laden my hair/scalp with too much product. However, while my hair is generally soft and tangle-free after use, my drier ends need more intensive conditioning.

That said, I like that it smooths my hair immediately without leaving a stubborn, slick residue on the back. I’ve unfortunately experienced hair conditioning product run down and remain on my back, impossible to wash off cleanly. A now-discontinued hair conditioning treatment from Asience used to do this to me and I truly disliked the sensation!
