Clinelle Singapore recently sent me this product to try. Part of their toner range which includes the Purifying Toner which I love, this item contains botanical extracts and essential oils to soothe and hydrate the skin.
When I first tried it, I hoped that it would feel as clean and comfortable on the skin as the purifying version did. So you can imagine how dismayed I was when it left a sticky after-feel. I was busy with something afterwards, so I left it on and did nothing about it.
I was pleasantly surprised minutes later though – the residue had disappeared and my face felt extremely soft and comfortable! I did not expect this effect and touched my entire face to verify the toner’s efficacy. Sure enough, my facial skin felt velvety. I’d admit that I don’t care for the immediate sticky feeling but the softening properties of this toner are quite remarkable. I’ve sprayed it on my face on humid nights and did not need to moisturise thereafter to have smooth and supple skin in the morning.
Another advantage of this toner is that it removes makeup traces well. Stubborn makeup can be a facial bane but this gentle product alleviates that frustration.
I also discovered an unusual use for this toner. In a desperate effort to tame my fringe and because the bottle of toner was tall and inviting (“Use me!” it seemed to say), I grabbed it and spritzed some onto my hair. Its somewhat sticky texture allows for gentle styling but when it dries, my hair is left soft and pliable without losing its shape. How neat is that?! ;)
Thanks for the review, Mag! It’s always nice to discover multiple uses for everyday products, isn’t it? Also, I’ve been rather curious about the Clinelle range for a while as I’ve heard about it being sensitive skin-friendly and now I can give it a try :)
You’re welcome, Tuggie!
It’s a decent brand; do check it out!
Sounds like something my skin might need.
Hi Farah,
Check out the Purifying one too!
Hi, would like to ask u, between e purifying toner and this which do u prefer?
Hi Fridagal,
To be honest, I prefer the Purifying version. :)
Thanks for e reply!! Love reading ur website for new reviews.. Ur review was e reason I wanted to try out the purifying toner =)
Hi Fridagal,
Thank you for your positive comment; I appreciate it very much! :)
I got this to try, not too bad with smell & textuer but leaves me with parched cheeks ours later. I hv super dry cheeks I think the purifying would be dryier. But anyway will need to give this another chance.
Hi Farah,
I’m surprised that it causes your cheeks to be drier. It actually draws moisture to my face. Everyone’s skin is different though. Perhaps you should try softening lotions, instead of toners?
Think my skin needs time to adjust. I am using Hada Lotion & it is working so will stick to that for a while. Will retry Clinelle again soon.
I hope it works for you somehow, Farah. At the very least, you could tame your hair with it?! ;)
Oh yeah! That could work too! :)
;) Farah! :D
