Back in May, I purchased two Guerlain eyeshadow singles. Ordinarily S$50 for one, the counter at Tangs Orchard was having a BOGOF offer plus I could offset the amount with my Tangs recycling program vouchers. Although they are supposedly the largest eyeshadow singles in the cosmetics market – they’re 3.6 g, compared to MAC shadows which are 1.3 g – the price did make me baulk; I have to really love the shade to pay that much for one!
The exorbitant price does come with touches of luxury. Not only are they encased in hefty gold compacts, they also have their own black velvet pouches; both cases embossed with the brand’s name.
I’d initially wanted a neutral all-over shade since such colours get used up more quickly but I couldn’t resist getting two accent shades in the end: 180 L’Instant Fume and 182 L’Instant Nuit.
L’Instant Fume is a soft grey taupe, while L’Instant Nuit is a black with golden and multi-coloured shimmer. Both are blendable and would make beautiful smokey eyes. I’m actually looking forward to contouring with the first (it is a versatile shade that would work with many cool colours) and laying the second over a deep base to bring out the sparkles. I have no idea when I’d ever see pan on these shadows though! :P
i have the same one n i havent touched it yet!
Hi Sarah,
Time to use those lovelies! ;)
