I was at the Novena Square Watsons store yesterday evening and saw Za’s Dramatic Eye Color palettes, the brand’s latest makeup offering. I couldn’t help but swatch a few of them, knowing they were new. (That said, the tester palettes on the display stand were somewhat smeary despite their being recently launched!)
Violet
Blue
Silver
Although I was drawn to the blue palette at first glance, the violet and the silver are more pigmented. The shadow pans in the blue palette are slightly chalky, while the colours in the violet and silver palettes really surprised me with their smooth glide and more pigmented feel; something I didn’t expect from Za. Dramatic Eye Color in Silver reminds me of Fasio Gradation Deep Eyes in I-8. Also, if you’re looking for a more accessible alternative to Kosé Blackish Forming Eyes in B-3, this Za palette could be something to try.
As with most Japanese eyeshadow palettes, these shimmery quads come with foolproof application instructions. They really are easy to wear, considering their complementary shades which are perfect for a simple gradated eye look (smooth vertical placement of colour) or one with a little more dimension (easy shading on the eye contours).
You can read more about these palettes on Rouge Deluxe and Shine, Shimmer and Sparkle.
