The tree which never dies.
Freeze it, burn it, cut it down, and the olive tree always reappears.
La Clarée discovers the secret of its longevity in the olive leaf: antioxidants.
Late last year, StarAsia contacted me via email to tell me about La Clarée. When I read the above in their email to me, my interest was piqued. We all know about olive oil being a popular ingredient but I never thought about its tenacity.
A European organic brand, La Clarée draws its name and natural inspiration from the river La Clarée, a water body with crystal clear waters in the south-east region of France. It is certified by Ecocert and its products are free from parabens, synthetic fragrance and colouring. Animal-lovers will be happy to know that this brand is cruelty-free too. 98% of its total ingredients are of natural origin, while 30% are from organic agriculture. In addition, all of its packaging is recyclable.
Product efficacy and ethical manufacturing make up the ethos of the Oliv’ line, whose creator happens to be Laurent Baussan, the son of Olivier Baussan, the man behind L’Occitane. Good lineage, don’t you think? :)
I received a box that contained:
- Exfoliating Soap (also known as the Pebble of La Clarée)
- Radiance Elixir
- Moisturizing Face Cream
- Moisturizing Body Cream
I took about three months to fully review everything and I must say that I am overall happy with their performance. As simple as the packaging is, the products pack a punch of dermal goodness. My skin is soothed, moisturised and very happy with the range. It really surprised me because I’m not easily impressed by skincare. I do not have comedogenic skin but I do have occasional breakouts and rashes. I am also prone to pre-menstrual skin sensitivity. My favourite product is the Moisturizing Face Cream; I often recommend it to friends and clients because it makes a good pre-foundation base.
I wasn’t fond of the olive scent at first but it gradually grew on me. The light and calming fragrance has an air of expensiveness – it is reminiscent of skincare from higher-end European brands – giving La Clarée products a sense of refinement, despite its mid-end pricing.
The full La Clarée Oliv’ range can be easily found at Watsons stores at Causeway Point, Compass Point, Great World City, IMM Mall, Ion Orchard, Jurong Point, Ngee Ann City, Parkway Parade, Raffles City, Tampines Mall, Tanglin Mall, Tiong Bahru Plaza and Vivo City.

Hi Eclipse,
You’re right. I’m not sure where else you can find the face cream, though. Perhaps you could email StarAsia directly?
