The odd combination of coffee and roses caught my eye but I was leery of the scent, unsure about the pairing. A sniff brought relief and olfactory pleasure: mostly a chocolate scent laced with
a hint of vanilla, this lip balm smells sweet and pleasant. A whiff of mocha and rose completes the fragrance.Like Smith’s Rose Salve and the other lip balms in the range, Mocha Rose is packaged in a quaint little tin. I think it’s the prettiest of them all though – the tin in a genteel pink is printed with lovely roses, while a leaf green gradates gently from the circumference of the tin cover. I love how the design evokes old world charm.
If you’re not averse to vanilla (a potential lip allergen) and are looking for a lip-softener with a slight rose tint, this would make a beautiful addition to your lip stash.
I love Smith's but I don't like how quickly it melts in our hot tropical weather. The tin gets oily and difficult to open :-(
Hi Kat! Always happy to read your comments. :)
An unfortunate payoff for the moisture that gives Asians supple skin. Have you tried keeping it in a vinyl pouch or something similar? Those don't seem to trap heat as much as cloth cases. You could also try keeping it in the fridge but that compromises its portability, I know.
