This February, Tom Ford will introduce four new Lip Color Shine lipsticks to Singapore. It’s been a while since the brand launched this lip-conditioning range, so it’s nice to welcome additional hues.
From top to bottom, they are:
Unabashed – a cool strawberry pink
Lust – a rose
Frivolous – a warm pink
Sultry – a warm apricot with a burnt orange slant
As with all Tom Ford lipsticks, these lustrous lovelies are formulated with soja seed extract, Brazillian murumuru butter and chamomile oil.
You might be happy to know that this quartet is more pigmented than the original colours, which have a semi-transparent quality. Of course, a mere slick of these new shades can give you a your-lips-but-better look and their almost-balmy texture means they can be treated as luxuriant lip salves, but they do build up prettily (and you’re getting your money’s worth).
The sparkle factor, whilst not exceptionally conspicuous in the original range, seems tamped down further in these.
I bought Bare previously and enjoy its moisturising feel, as well as its glossy veil of nude colour that’s so lovely with smokey eyes. Despite its melty texture, it hasn’t turned rancid. I keep it in a cool lipstick drawer but to extend the lifespan of your TF Shines, it’s best to store them in the fridge (that’s where my super-soft Burberry Lip Mist is!).
In Singapore, these additions will be permanent to the range and will retail at S$72 – the same price as a regular Tom Ford Lip Color, an increase from S$70.
Unabashed sounded familiar when I first laid eyes on it; I couldn’t quite pin down why…and then I realised it’s also the name of last year’s Tom Ford Eye & Cheek Palette! ;)
