Making Rudolph Fresh Face Mask with Lush Singapore

Lush Rudolph Fresh Face Mask Ingredients

Besides Wisma Atria, Lush can now be found at Suntec City Mall. I visited this new store a week ago to learn how their holiday-exclusive Rudolph Fresh Face Mask is made from scratch.

Meant for dry and sensitive skin, this limited edition mask contains:

  • Mint leaves
  • Aloe vera
  • Witch hazel
  • Glycerine
  • Cucumber
  • Lavender essential oil
  • Coconut oil
  • Silken tofu
  • Green tea powder
  • Calamine powder
  • Oatmeal
  • Kaolin

According to the brand, fresh organic ingredients from local sources are used. However, the ingredients that last a longer period (for example, powders and essential oils) come directly from the UK.

Mag and Ratna at Lush Learning How Rudolph Fresh Face Mask is Made

During the hands-on session, my talented pal Trish Ratna, baking extraordinaire of Cupcake Momma, went with me to take a beauty break but couldn’t escape the ways of her trade! She deftly mixed the fresh ingredients, achieving a well mixed-in liquid consistency. The powders and oils were then added to produce the sludgy texture of a Lush Fresh Face Mask. It was quite an eye-opener watching the making of Ruldoph; I’ve wondered before about the way Lush masks are whipped up, so now I know!

Trish and I were so busy taking photos together that we missed the bit on how to tub the product properly and I ended up with an overflowing, messy mask (eep!) even though it wasn’t filled to the brim. That’s because the lid is actually a little depressed.

We could keep the masks we’d tubbed and mine went straight into the refrigerator when I arrived home. I was actually quite concerned about its exposure to the environment while it was being put together: I’d always believed that Lush masks are made in a proper kitchen/lab, so I had reservations about people crowding round the bowl during the demo, in addition to having the fresh ingredients be exposed for so long – I’m not sure if this would compromise its performance. Nonetheless, I do look forward to trying it out.

Lush Christmas 2013 at Suntec City Mall

In Singapore, this product retails at S$26.50 and is only available during this festive season, together with other special edition bath and body products.

It’s a cheery place to step into this month; I love the riot of colours and smells. My hubby would disagree on the second point, though – he can’t seem to abide by the strong scent mélange of the Lush store! ;)
